UDL-based interventions for Faculty Development in Higher Education: a Systematic Review

L'Universal Design for Learning è un approccio teorico volto a garantire la piena accessibilità dell'istruzione. Nonostante il suo riconoscimento a livello mondiale e i potenziali benefici per il coinvolgimento degli studenti e la professionalità degli insegnanti, la letteratura sulle sue applicazioni è ancora limitata, soprattutto se si considera l'istruzione superiore. Questa revisione sistematica offre una panoramica completa degli interventi basati sull'UDL a livello universitario, concentrandosi sulle metodologie, le strutture e l'impatto su studenti, docenti e altro personale universitario. La revisione ha rilevato un numero esiguo di studi sull'UDL nell'istruzione superiore, che tuttavia evidenziano l'utilità e i benefici dell'UDL nell'istruzione superiore. Questi studi hanno utilizzato diversi disegni di ricerca, campioni e strumenti, mostrando differenze significative nella durata, nella frequenza e nel contenuto degli interventi UDL. Questi interventi hanno migliorato principalmente le conoscenze e le competenze del personale accademico, mentre l'impatto sull'apprendimento e sulla partecipazione degli studenti o, più in generale, lo sviluppo della facoltà sono stati presi in considerazione in una minoranza di casi. In conclusione, questa rassegna sottolinea che l'implementazione dell'UDL è essenziale per promuovere un ambiente di apprendimento più inclusivo ed efficace nell'istruzione superiore, rispondendo alle esigenze di tutti gli studenti e alla loro eterogeneità. Tuttavia, la ricerca futura sugli interventi basati sull'UDL trarrebbe beneficio dal rigore metodologico, dalla fedeltà nell'implementazione del modello, da un'accurata documentazione degli interventi e dalla valutazione del loro impatto.
