Promoting reflective practice in prison education: the potential of video games as educational tools
Parole chiave:
videogames, inclusione educativa, carcereAbstract
This contribution aims to explore the potential of video games as educational tools in the penitentiary context, addressing the fundamental tension between security requirements and educational aims in prison environments. With particular attention to current Italian penitentiary policies and practices, and drawing from inclusive pedagogy, we explore how video games could promote authentic engagement in educational processes, moving beyond the instrumental participation in educational programs that typically characterizes incarcerated individuals' involvement.
