MMORPG come ecosistemi socio-tecnici e pedagogie della co-evoluzione

I massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) costituiscono ambienti digitali persistenti caratterizzati da un’elevata densità di interazioni sociali, pratiche collaborative e processi di apprendimento informale (Gee, 2003; Steinkuehler & Williams, 2006). Lungi dall’essere meri prodotti di intrattenimento, tali mondi virtuali possono essere interpretati come ecosistemi socio-tecnici complessi, nei quali giocatori, tecnologie e ambienti co-evolvono generando forme di conoscenza situata, competenze trasversali e identità collettive (Ducheneaut et al., 2007; Nardi, 2010). Il contributo presenta una revisione narrativa sistematizzata della letteratura scientifica sugli MMORPG, con particolare attenzione alle dinamiche di socializzazione, collaborazione e apprendimento. L’analisi evidenzia come questi ambienti possano offrire modelli utili per ripensare pratiche educative orientate alla cooperazione, all’adattamento reciproco e alla relazione uomo–ambiente–tecnologia, in linea con il paradigma delle pedagogie della co-evoluzione (Steinkuehler, 2008).
