Orto in Condotta: a multi-year horticultural education experience for the development of personal and profes-sional skills for students with intellectual disability

Questo articolo presenta un’esperienza didattica e educativa basata sull’orticoltura, implementata nell’Istituto agrario di Elmas (Cagliari). Background: Negli ultimi anni è sempre più diffuso il ricorso all’orticoltura, come approccio educativo inclusivo. La letteratura dimostra come la pratica orticola può sostenere lo sviluppo di numerose conoscenze e competenze degli alunni interessati da disabilità intellettiva. Metodo: nell’articolo la letteratura è presentata attraverso una revisione narrativa che fa da introduzione dell’intervento condotto secondo il modello dell’ortoterapia. Conclusioni: l’analisi dell’esperienza induce a una riflessione sulle modalità con le quali è necessario intendere l’inclusione scolastica al fine di promuovere una concreta inclusione sociale degli alunni al di fuori del contesto scolastico. Tale riflessione chiama in causa il concetto di inclusione secondo la declinazione di Felice Corona, al quale questo articolo è dedicato.
