Abstract

In the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which is among the cases of Special Educational Needs (SEN), scientific literature indicates a potential role of exercise. The effects of physical activity, movement and sport act on the reduction of the main symptoms of ADHD, also improving executive functions. In this contribution, we offer a brief overview of the potential that exercise has in improving the symptoms of ADHD, both in the short term and in the long term. In fact, it has been found that the positive effects observed after acute aerobic exercise are promising, while there are still few and insufficient studies related to long-term physical intervention, although in both cases there are benefits, in general, for the person.
