Impact of Centering in Physical Education on Adolescents: A Transdisciplinary Approach to Well-being

Abstract

Questo studio esplora il ruolo della 'Centratura' nell'educazione fisica per gli adolescenti, un'età cruciale per lo sviluppo integrale. Analizzando 191 studentesse adolescenti, gli autori hanno indagato l'impatto della Centratura, una competenza neuromotoria per la gestione consapevole della pressione intra-addominale (IAP), sulla meccanica respiratoria e la gestione dello stress. Questa tecnica, fisica ed apparentemente semplice, è parte della metodologia di allenamento Sincrony, per l’educazione al movimento. (De Bernardi, 2008). E’ stata originariamente sviluppata per migliorare le prestazioni atletiche (Hrysomallis, 2017; Zemková, 2016; Granacher et al., 2013), ma nel suo sviluppo ha mostrato apportare benefici per la salute (Brown & Pfeiffer, 2018; Green et al., 2021). Gli studi infatti suggeriscono che la Centratura lavora indirettamente su abilità fisiche fondamentali spesso correlate alla salute, come la respirazione o la riduzione della tensione muscolare periferica eccessiva (Hodges et al., 2013; Allard-Latour et al., 2022). Alla luce di queste scoperte emergenti, gli autori hanno voluto verificare, con un protocollo educativo, se il suo insegnamento potesse raggiungere la riduzione dello stress, offrendo un approccio transdisciplinare ed efficace per migliorare il benessere complessivo degli adolescenti. I risultati indicano che la Centratura potrebbe essere utilizzata trasversalmente e, in vari contesti educativi, potenziando l'educazione fisica come strumento per il benessere generale.
